Are you interested in learning more about the construction and engineering industry on PEI, the services they offer, and the current job opportunities they have? We have invited, a Team from the Construction Association of PEI to provide insights into the construction industry on PEI, and answer any questions you may have! 

Join us for an in-person session that provides valuable connections, knowledge sharing, and opportunities within the construction sector. You'll get an opportunity to engage in discussions about construction trends and challenges, ask questions, and expand your professional network.

- Bernie Dykerman, Lead Trades Instructor, Construction Association Of Prince Edward Island

Red Seal Carpenter who has been In the construction sector for 40 years and is a former co- owner of Benmar Construction and 3 other construction-related businesses.  After retiring in early 2022, Bernie was immediately hired by The Construction Association of PEI as a lead instructor in their "tiny home" initiative, plus instructing participants on the practical applications of carpentry so they have the skill set for employment in the construction industry.
 

- Janet O’Donnell, Employment Program Director, Construction Association Of Prince Edward Island

Oversees and coordinates CAPEI’s programming including our Youth in Trades, Discover Carpentry and Skilled Newcomer in Construction Program, plus organizing programming with Community Outreach Centre, and Women’s Network.

- David Elsinga,  HR Advisor/Social Media Manager, Construction Association Of Prince Edward Island

Has valuable knowledge and experience specifically in the areas of recruitment, advertisement, social media, and staffing solutions for CAPEI member companies. He also, presents and hosts virtual reality training sessions throughout many institutions on Prince Edward Island. 

- Mah Ara Ahmadi, Construction Association Of Prince Edward Island

Urban Engineering graduate presently pursuing a Master of Arts in Island Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island. Her academic focus encompasses city planning, housing, and island sustainability. She recently had the opportunity to share my insights at the Sustainable Small Island conference in Aruba.
Over the past year, she has been actively involved with the Construction Association of PEI (CAPEI), gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the construction sector. Her diverse roles at CAPEI include assisting with office administration, helping with social media promotion, program assistance, event support, providing membership benefit cards and certificates, school presentations, holding Virtual Reality sessions, and contributing to the Fiona Helpline.
