Our presenters:

Thilak Tennekone, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant of the Public Service Commission, Government of Prince Edward Island

Thilak is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion policies, programs, and support systems, corporate EDI strategies, research, EDI training education, coordinating community engagement initiatives, diversity promotion, and facilitating a centralized role in fostering the building of a workplace that is representative, welcoming, and inclusive. Thilak has over 30 years of experience in Prince Edward Island in areas of equity, diversity and inclusion, immigration, multicultural education, human rights, and cultural diversity programs. Thilak is an active member of several community organizations leading on EDI programs. Thilak received his Master's Degree in Education in Leadership and Learning from and the Diploma in Adult Education from the University of Prince Edward Island. Thilak also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Sociology.

Sarah Muthee, Diversity and Inclusion Program Officer for the Public Service Commission, Government of Prince Edward Island

Sarah is a recipient of the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship and recently graduated with a Master of Science from the University of Prince Edward Island. Sarah specializes in inclusive workplace research, policy analysis, adult education, cultural competency training, multifaceted writing, and streamlining client experience. Sarah is incredibly passionate and motivated to use her research and andragogy techniques to reinforce equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility best practices within Public Service. She has led the development of the Unconscious Bias in the Workplace Webinar, guided the research and writing of the 2022-2025 Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, evaluated the Public Service Leadership Competencies Framework and excelled in designing and managing the Diversity and Inclusion Talent Pool. A strong believer in education and the positive benefits of healthy, safe, and bias-free workplace environments, Sarah is proud to contribute to building a Public Service that is diverse, innovative and socially and culturally inclusive.
