Meet the Facilitators:

Monic Vokey, Recruitment Consultant, Public Service Commission

Monic Vokey is the Recruitment Consultant with the Public Service Commission, a new role with the Public Service Commission where she identifies and attracts top talent for hard-to-fill positions within the Civil Government. Monic holds a degree in Sociology from Acadia University, a Human Resource Management Certificate from Dalhousie University, alongside various marketing, human resource, and interpersonal trainings.

Before joining the Public Service Commission, Monic served as the Communications and Research Officer for the PEI Nurses Union. In this capacity, she contributed to the union’s efforts in promoting and protecting the interests of nursing professionals.

Amber James, Bilingual Recruitment Coordinator, Public Service Commission

Amber is responsible for the recruitment and staffing of Designated Bilingual (French/English) positions within Health PEI and the Provincial Government.  Over the past seven years, Amber has held several different roles within government related to employment.  Most recently, she worked as a Recruitment Coordinator with the Department of Health and Wellness prior to joining the team at the Public Service Commission in September 2023. Amber holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of Prince Edward Island and has completed numerous workshops and courses, including the Public Service Commission’s Leaders in Action Program and extensive French language training.
